Good Morning Parents,
We are excited the new 23/24 school year is just around the corner. We want to ensure your student(s)’ Tuition and Fees are recorded appropriately in FACTS, including their Step Up for Students (SUFS) scholarship award to offset the total amount due. This step finalizes the enrollment and scholarship award process, it does not indicate your actual student fees, but only the total possible fees. (Tuition, book fee, registration, application, optional tutoring, graduation for 8th grade)
Thank you to everyone who already provided their student(s)’ SUFS Award ID to the St John Catholic Academy (SJCA) Front Desk. If you have not, we highly encourage you to do so by the end of day Friday, July 21st.
For those who provided their student(s)’ SUFS Award ID:
Today, your SUFS account will be updated to request for your approval allowing SJCA to receive your student(s)’ scholarship payments. Below is an example of the screen you will see after logging into your SUFS EMA account. Thank you to Mrs. Borden for allowing us to share her SUFS EMA screenshot with everyone.
At your earliest convenience, please log into your SUFS EMA account and select ACCEPT, meaning you approve your student(s)’ scholarship payments to be issued to SJCA.
Here are several points of interest:
First, one significant improvement with the new SUFS EMA System is Parents are now only required to provide their approval once at the beginning of the year. You are no longer required to provide quarterly approvals!
Second, there is an issue with the SUFS EMA System that has not been adjusted – even after multiple requests. The “Total Tuition” on your EMA screen will represent the maximum “possible” Tuition and Fees that could be charged and not the actual Tuition and Fees due for your student(s) attending SJCA. For example, in the above screenshot, the Total Tuition and Fees for Mrs Borden’s daughter shows as $8,642 in the EMA System, but actual Total Tuition and Fees in her FACTS account will be $8,472. The following chart provides the detailed Tuition & Fees within both SUFS EMA System and the FACTS System:
For Mrs. Borden’s daughter: | Currently in EMA System as Maximum Possible “Total Tuition & Fees” | Actual “Total Tuition & Fees” charged in FACTS System |
|||||
K-8 Tuition | $8,022 | $8,022
K-8 Book Fee | 300 | 300 | |||||
8th Grade Graduation Fee | 150 | 150
Registration Fee | 100 | ||||||

Tutoring Fee | 20 | ||||||
Total Tuition & Fees | $8,642 | $8,472
Third, SUFS recently published the 23/24 scholarship levels for Bay County as shown in the following chart. However, SUFS is still showing the 22/23 school year scholarship levels in the new EMA System; indication was made that scholarship levels will be updated later this summer. Please know your FACTS account will include the published Bay County 23/24 scholarship levels. If for some reason, SUFS does not award the full amount to your student(s)’, your FACTS account will be adjusted accordingly.
SUFS Scholarship Levels for Bay County during the 23/24 School Year | Kindergarten to 3rd Grade | 4th to 8th Grades
FTC Scholarship | $8,003 | $7,376
FES-EO Scholarship | $8,003 | $7,376
