Open House, Parent Meeting & Extended Care Registration Information

Dear St. John Catholic Academy Families,

We pray that your summer has been blessed with good health and beautiful time with family. Our teachers have returned to campus, our classrooms have been refreshed, and we are joyfully preparing for another wonderful year of growing and learning together.

We are also pleased to welcome Father Jacob Jaks, our new pastor at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. His previous experience teaching at the Cathedral School of the Sacred Heart in Pensacola has prepared him to support our students, families, and faculty in a particularly meaningful way.

As we do each year, we look forward to welcoming you this Sunday, August 9, for our Open House and Annual Parent Meeting as we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year.

Open House
4:00–5:00 p.m.

Our campus will open promptly at 4:00 p.m. Because it remains very hot outside, please plan to arrive at 4:00 rather than gathering on campus beforehand.

During Open House, families will have an opportunity to:

  • Meet their child’s teacher
  • Drop off school supplies
  • Pick up car tags
  • Receive PowerSchool and Google Classroom information
  • Submit any updated immunization or physical forms required before the first day of school

We will also host a Uniform Swap during Open House. If you have gently used uniforms to donate, please bring items that are freshly laundered, clean, and free of holes or stains. This is a wonderful opportunity to support other SJCA families.

If you still need to purchase uniforms, please remember:

  • Lands’ End Preferred School Number: 900035320
  • Promo Code: BELL20
  • Uniforms are also available locally at Zoghby’s in Lynn Haven.

Please take a moment to review the attached flyer for additional information, including school supply lists and uniform details.

Annual Parent Meeting
5:00–6:00 p.m.
St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church

We ask that at least one parent or guardian from each family attend. Please be seated in the church promptly at 5:00 p.m., as we will begin on time. During this meeting, we will share important information, updates, and expectations for the 2026–2027 school year.

School Mass with Bishop Bill Wednesday August 12th at 1:30 in the Church

It is our honor that Bishop Bill will join us for our first school mass this year. Please register by clicking this link: Mass with Bishop Bill on August 12th

Pre registration is required!

Extended Care Registration for Grades K–8

Families who anticipate needing Extended Care this school year are encouraged to complete the registration form as soon as possible.

Due to the high number of students who participated in Extended Care last year, the initial registration period is reserved for families requiring full-time, Monday-through-Friday care. Registration is required and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration Link: Register for Full-Time Extended Care 2026–2027

The initial full-time registration period will close on Thursday, August 13, 2026. If space remains, requests for part-time care will be considered afterward.

Please note:

  • Extended Care begins the week of August 17.
  • Only pre-registered students may attend.
  • Extended Care is available from 3:00–5:30 p.m. at a cost of $8 per hour or any portion of an hour.
  • Early Care is available beginning at 7:30 a.m. for $6 per day. Students should be dropped off at the Preschool entrance.
  • Families will be billed monthly in arrears through FACTS based on actual program usage.
  • Students with outstanding tuition or Extended Care balances may not attend until their accounts are current.
  • Students attending Extended Care should bring an additional afternoon snack each day.

We are pleased to offer Extended Care as a service to our SJCA families. Participation requires a strong partnership between families and the school, grounded in mutual support, open communication, and respect—particularly when concerning or challenging behaviors need to be addressed.

It is not uncommon for students to experience fatigue after 3:00 p.m., which can affect their behavior and ability to engage positively with others. Our Extended Care program is intentionally structured to support students during their longer day. When needed, we may share recommendations to help your child enjoy a successful and joy-filled experience in the program.

We are committed to early intervention and to working collaboratively with families through any challenges that may arise. If the extended day proves to be too long for a student, a shorter schedule may be recommended. Administration reserves the right to suspend or discontinue a student’s participation when necessary to protect the well-being and best interests of the individual student and the program as a whole.

We cannot wait to see you on Sunday and look forward to beginning another wonderful year together. Thank you for being a valued part of the St. John Catholic Academy family.

Through Christ our Teacher ~

Sister Grace
